AN OUTREACH REMINDER

Did you know that over 54% of students enrolled in the Guilford County Public Schools get free and reduced lunches? Many of these children rely on those meals and don't have enough to eat when they're not in school.

The Out of the Garden Project is a non-profit organization rooted right here in Guilford County that helps provide food for these students. The food is packaged and sent home with needy students at 31 schools in our area so they will have something to eat over the weekend. Over 600 bags of food are provided each Friday.

Christ Preschool, with your help, has been providing food to this great organization for almost two years, and we continue to take food each week to those who organize and deliver.

Please consider (or continue) making donations of peanut butter, rice, beans, pasta, canned meats, canned fruits and vegetables, macaroni and cheese, canned pasta sauce (no jars), instant oatmeal, granola bars, cheese crackers, etc. Bring in your items and put in the boxes outside the classrooms.

We hope you'll agree that one of the most important lessons we can teach or children is care and compassion for those less fortunate. The Out of the Garden Project is one way to do that.
